The short duct behind your dryer is where lint gets trapped first. Which types inspectors flag, and what to use instead.
Can you clean a dryer vent yourself?
Often yes, for a short, straight vent. The tools, the steps, and the mistakes that cause damage inside walls.
Questions people ask
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
Once a year for most homes. Every six months if you run the dryer daily, have a large family or pets, or the vent run is long.
How long does a cleaning take?
About an hour for a standard ground-floor or basement vent. Long runs and second-floor laundry rooms take longer.
Do you clean gas dryer vents?
Yes, from the wall opening and the outside hood. We never move, disconnect or reconnect a gas dryer. That is gas line work, which in New Hampshire is done by licensed gas fitters.
Is the price really flat?
Yes. A standard cleaning is $149. If your vent is long, on a second floor or ends on the roof, we tell you the price before we start. Add-on parts are optional and priced upfront.
Will it make a mess?
No. We lay a drop cloth, wear shoe covers and use a HEPA vacuum so lint does not end up in your laundry room.
